Xiamox Eye Drop

Xiamox eye drops contain Moxifloxacin 0.5% w/v ophthalmic solution. XIAMOX achieves a higher aqueous humour concentration required for surgical prophylaxis. XIAMOX eye drops are a broad-spectrum antibiotic having better activity against ocular pathogens than Tobramycin. XIAMOX eye drops offer a higher aqueous humour concentration compared to Ciprofloxacin or Gatifloxacin. Xiamox eye drops are indicated in various bacterial infections of the eye like Bacterial conjunctivitis, Bacterial keratitis, Pre & Post-operative infections.

Mechanism of action:
Moxifloxacin is a broad-spectrum antibiotic that is active against both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. It functions by inhibiting DNA gyrase, a type II topoisomerase, and topoisomerase IV, enzymes necessary to separate bacterial DNA, thereby inhibiting cell replication. There is no preservative used in XIAMOX eye drops.
