Xiamox DM Eye Drop

XIAMOX DM is combination of MOXIFLOXACIN 0.5% w/v & Dexamethasone 0.1% w/v.

MOXIFLOXACIN broad spectrum antibiotic & Dexamethasone
is potent steroid .

Mechanism of action of Moxifloxacin:
Moxifloxacin is a broad-spectrum antibiotic that is active against both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. It functions by inhibiting DNA gyrase, a type II topoisomerase,
and topoisomerase IV, enzymes necessary to separate bacterial DNA, thereby inhibiting cell replication

Mechanism of action of Dexamethasone:
Dexamethasone is a potent glucocorticoid with very little, if any, mineralocorticoid activity. Dexamethasone’s effect on the body occurs in a variety of ways. It works by suppressing the migration of neutrophils and decreasing lymphocyte colony proliferation. The capillary membrane becomes less permeable, as well. Lysosomal membranes have increased stability. Dexamethasone is metabolized by the liver and excreted in the urine mainly. Thus, this becomes Ideal combination for post operative care.

XIAMOX DM eye drops are indicated in preventing infection & inflammation post operatively.
